Can you run the MAF after turbo?

Well while browsing youtube, I found this to be quiet interesting....

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9-b44IoZF4U&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9-b44IoZF4U&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Although this would probably be like the biggest boost leak EVER, and probably break the sensor from whatever boost it'll hold.... would this technically work???WTF

Yes. The MAF is right before the throttle body, which is bolted on to the intake manifold. I have a similar setup (I have an air filter).

It goes, by major parts, turbo, intercooler, MAF, throttle body, intake manifold.

Hmmm...seems like a good idea. Would definitley allow better flow into the turbo. Can the factory MAF handle alot of boost though? What side effects would this set up cause...both positive and negative?

Whats the difference if the maf is allowing 10 psi of air getting sucked through it, or 10 psi getting blown through it. You still want to put a intake pipe on that turbo, if it sucks something in there, you wont have a turbo.

Read the link turbosax posted to understand why running the stock MAF in blow-through isn't a great idea, besides the obvious boost leak/explosion issues.

i had my maf after between the tb and bov.

i dont believe you can use a stocker though, the one on my car was not stock.

You COULD use a stocker, but, as stated above, the blow through on a stock MAF causes TROUBLE! I use a 3" MAF in my blow through setup.

The stock MAF is not designed to have air moving in that fasion, so it will be inconsistent. Also, with some oil blowby and stuff it will shorten the life of your sensor. I wouldn't recommend a setup like that.

I would love to see a video like that where someone goes to record the turbo spinning and the lens cover falls into the impeller or something. That would be funny. I could just see the guy putting the camera too close and crack!
