can you cut the balance shafts?

I spun the bearing in my rear countershaft and want to know if anybody tried to just cut the shaft? after plugging the oil hole?

what you would be doing would be your own balance shaft removal kit. if you cut your rear balace shaft, you will have to weld up the center where the oil passage is. You will also have to put in a rotated balance shaft bearing to plug up that hole.

FYI: the forum is called "handling tech" not because we handle any and all techincal questions, but because we discuss the technical side of handling. In truth, we mostly argue about understeer and post pictures of overweight wheels that aren't wide enough for good tires, making a question on balance shafts a welcome change, but we're really not supposed to talk engines in here.
