I have a car that is running on speed density, that i am trying to tune to run 11.5.1 at wot. I noticed a little knock at certain rpms, and want to get rid of the knocks completely. My question is to adjust my timing and fuel at different rpms, should i be using the sliders, or should i use the ve tables so i can get rid of the knock that i see? Again i am running speed density.

no matter SD or maf, wouldnt you adjust your DA timing table?? Find the cell where your knocking and back timing off a little bit. Im assuming your running link v3.

yes v3 iam trying to set my afR too read 11.5.1 at wot for .so what are the sliders for if you are supposed to use the DA tables

so if i want to add more fuel i should make the numbers in speed denisity higher?and to add timing shouuld i change them in my tmng max oct? i notice that my afrEST dont match my wideband i have a new innovative wideband why is this?snowboard did you say i should use the evo8 mod 1 tables in a different thread.

What kind of fuel are you using and wanting to target 11.5 on? what boost level?

Once your base settings are in line you should be able to make some what small changes in your Ve map to get your Actual AFR to match you AFR estimate if it's matching what is in the DA maps as it is now.

lot of things to say and not a lot to go on with out a log... . Even good advice would be IMO ill advised with out one.

These things your asking about changing if your having to ask how to change them you probably shouldn't be again that is just IMO though.

snowboard you said you can populate all the values (except the SD table) with an appropriate starting point for my setup what type of log do you want cold start/warm/or driving log?

Yes, I can populate the DA tables with modified Evo8 mod 1 tables, as well as go through the rest of the tabs and see what else should be adjusted.

Your DA timing/fuel tables should be "set it and forget it". You want to set them initially to what you want your AFR to be. Then when you get your airflow dialed in so that your AFRatioEst and wideband lines match up, you will have the AFR that you input into your DA fuel table.

For timing, it will always match up to what's in the table unless you have knock (subtract knock count from timing table value to get timing you should see) or something else that pulls timing (e.g. coolant temps above 210°.

You need to adjust the SD table values to line up the AFRatioEst and wideband lines in a log.

Post an idle log to start off with, making sure the car is up to temp.

ok here is a log that i just did it has the evo8 mod 1 tables.Do i have to get my wideband/afREST to line up perfectly through the hole rpm range (idle to 7500rmp)or close enough? And what would be the easiest way to set the speed density cels to get WB/afrEST to line up at all rpms?

You should add LTFT Low,LTFT mid, and LTFT High to your logs

Also FYI PTE 880's (FIC makes 850's) only really flow 840cc @ 43 psi and your timing seems a bit low when was the last time you set your Base timing?
