Can this lifter still be used?

So I bought some used "revised" lifters a while back and just got around to cleaning them out. After sitting in a cleaning solution for a while a few of them came out looking like the ones in the pictures below. One thing I noticed is that those that came out like that were ones that were touching the cup they were in.

It is still smooth on those "patches" but I want to know if I can safely run them.

Also, some of the lifters I bought feel like they are threaded while the rest feel completely smooth (on the area inside the red circle). Is that normal?

Yep, it won't effect how they function.

Its fine. Hit it with a scrubby and some mineral spirits if necessary.

Alright that's good to know (I was getting ready to buy new ones). Thanks guy's I'll be putting them in this Friday.
