David,

Steve's doing OK, but it'll likely be a week or so until he gets back online. If you need help fast and can't wait, you may want to see if Jeff Oberholtzer at DSM Chips can help or if Darren King at FFWD Connection can lend a hand. You can reach Jeff at [email protected] and Darren at [email protected]

Hang in there!

You can also reach Jeff on the galant vr4 board www.galantvr4.org When my ECU burned I contacted Jeff and he found me a EPROM caped it and chiped it for me... wont say on here for how much but it was more then a fair price. He does great work, sells a great product, and turn around time is quick too.

Im in no real rush but this ecu is chiped for my 650cc injectors. Im one of the lucky few who have a spair eprom laying around for this reason. I think im giong to just wait till steve is out of the hospital and send him a pm because i know i can trust him.

thanks alot for the help
david-

edit: you should send me a pm about how much it was for you....

you wouldnt want to sell your spair would you? :sneaky: :thumb:

I have a question about the buzzing. Does it buzz right after you take the key out of the ignition? My car started to buzz today right after it shut off and I remove the key. Anyone know what the buzzing means. The car runs great it's just the buzzing that gets annoying.

Why dont you get a hold of Keydiver (Jeff) on the galant board if your really interested in getting your hands on one. Even if you dont have an EPROM he can find you one and chip it with whatever you want on it for prob just as cheap as someone is going to sell you there used one. I would contact Jeff 1st before buying a used one. You may be supprised as to how inexpensive he chips and sells them for.

No kidding, damn. Well if its going to cost you more to repair yours then it would to buy one from him. You could sell your to him (he just posted a thread a few days ago looking for un repairable and burned turbo ECU's) and he could make you another one.

Ill probably just send it to steve when he gets out of the hospital. You had me convinced that jeff was the way to go tho.....

He is ... or should I say was. Sorry David, didnt know he stopped fixing ecu's; I guess he's working on making chips and selling EPROMs.

Send an email over to Dave Mertz at DSMLink... He rebuilt and socketed 2 of my ECU's. Turn around time was not bad at all, he kept me informed about the damages and costs to repair it and pricing was fair. I will be sending him more when I need to.

He quit doing repairs a year or so ago. Last ecu I know he repaired was mine about 2 years ago. From what I hear, he has been referring all the repair work to steve. And Dave is the only other person I know right off hand that does reputable repair work.

I can repair it also. Shoot me a PM or call 423-923-1508.

Ok guys, I have good news! After seeing this thread I sent my bad EPROM ECU to Huafist. After a few short days I now have a working EPROM ECU! Great knowledgable guy! Charged $100 to get it sorted out...I am very happy! Just took a spin with it in the car and my ECU is working GREAT! Trying to find a working EPROM ECU without a hole the size of my fist has been a real challenge. I really got tired of people trying to screw me. I can confirm this guy is trustworthy. My 90 AWD is running better than ever!
