Hey, can I run a pipe from the 2g mass through the stock IC pipe rout and hang the filter where side mount used to be?

I've not seen anyone done this so figure there must be limitation on distance between mas and filter. Please educate me.

Its not the distance between the filter and mas that create a problem, it is the 90* turn in the pipe right before the mas that creates the problem. The turn disrupts airflow through the mas and gives the ecu false airflow readings. Im sure someone here will explain more in detail but I will just say it will work, but not better than what you already have. Now, on the other hand, you can mount the mas and filter combo in the fender well and just modify the intake pipe but I dont think you will see much if any performance gain from it. The turbo will heat the air anyways and thats why you have an ic.

Yeah dude, We dont need a "cool air" style intake like honda's have. Its going to pass threw a Red hot turbo. If you mount the filter in the wheel well its just going to get dirty alot faster.
