Any easy ways to manipulate the temp the fans come on at without buying a controller? Do the fans use a different coolant temp sensor than the ECU? I've noticed a couple temps sensors around the thermostat and I only use one of them? Could I use one to control fans? Or am I stuck buying a controller?

Thanks

For 1gs, we have no ECU control over the fans. Unless you buy a controller, the best thing is to buy an aftermarket thermo switch (the one in the bottom of the rad).

Well you can click your ac switch on and put the blower switch on first setting and the fans should come on....unless you removed the ac fuse/relay box.

as posted above I have AC. Don't want the compressor running all the time.

You never posted anything about having ac.......you could hook up a switch to the fans to operate them manually. Other than that, an aftermarket lower temp sensor is the only other choice; just have to make sure it doesn't crap out and the fans don't come on at all. Yikes!

I have my a/c fan hooked up through defrost and the a/c switch. I control it that way. Passenger side is still stock but I am not hitting that temp at all.

I would suggest wiring it to a lighted toggle switch if you are that concerned about it. Lighted because that way you can see when it is on and not.

These specs seem to hot to me? This is for the factory switch. Trying to locate a cooler switch...

230 off, 239 on

1990-1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse Fan Switch - 4-Seasons 20008

Yes, that is way too hot. Factory is like 195 off, 203 on or something like that.

On the same site, there is a 176/185 switch that would work perfectly. This is it.

There was also anther thread with a link to a different brand of the exact same thing, but I can't find it for the life of me.
