OK i have couple question first i have a 92 talon automatic got a big 16g turbo a front mount and piping and some guys told me i need to tune my car but it doesn't let me rev over 3k and when im driving the car it doesn't pick up speed at all LOL its real slow and sometimes it spool up right away and when its on idle it spits droplets of gas from the exhaust what can i do to check this out maybe a bad head gasket i dont know but the engine was rebuild right before i got it thanks

You got to tell me little more info about the car.

Injector size
Fuel pump size
And type of tuning in the car now like a safc
wideband gauge

I Have The Same Issue.. 95 GST.. Injector Size is 550CC Not sure what "SAFC" is The Guy I Bout The Car Off Of Said it Had a 190lph Walboro fuel pump... not sure if it really does.. not sure how to check... SOOOOOOO... 550cc Injectors, 190walboro, 60 trim turbo.. all stock intercooler piping including b.o.v... (b.o.v. is recirculated) .. stock everything minus parts i just described... including exhause.... and im pretty positive it doesnt have a tune... boost reads 20psi... now from reading and reading and reading on this site (which is VERY helpful...seriously.) i was told the, the stock b.o.v. is set not to go past a certain amount of psi.. so i bought a GREDDY RZ B.O.V. but havent installed.. still waiting to find The Flange Pipe Adapter locally b4 i order online... could that help?? i just need help.. New To The DSM World... Thanks.. Johnny

a SAFC is a Air Flow Converter it helps with fuel and air flow into your engine they are mainly used to tune your car. stock bov isnt really good past stock boost and if your pushing 20lbs then i would try and get that greddy one on there and see how it runs.

I had the same problem with my Talon a few months ago, it was the transistor that died and made it run on 2 cylinders. Test the transistor and the coil pack, that is more than likely your problem.

Why are you guys so quick to tell him its not gas? A chimp could tell the difference between gas and coolant. Just because he made a random stab at head gasket because he's obviously boggled, doesn't mean that It's definitely the HG and therefore what he's seeing in the exhaust is not gas but coolant..

It's possible for the car to have a leaking ECU and gone into limp mode and therefore is pig rich(not the most likely, but still). And IS dropping fuel out the tail pipe, you at least need to ask some more questions before you give somebody that diagnosis with no facts.

This sounds exactly what my car was doin. I had a really bad boost leak AND my head gasket was blown out between cylinders 2 and 3.

so wait non recirculated BOV? are you running stock MAF? Maf before or after the BOV?

If this is the case then you MAF is telling your ECU you are getting alot more air than you actually are bc the BOV is purging it before the motor can use it above 3k rpm. Thus the ECU is telling the injectors to load the cylinders with gas to match the incorrect air reading. Surprised its not running worse really

Unless the BOV was leaking horribly, venting is only gonna cause it to run rough in between shifts, and in vacuum situation where the valve is actually open. Under acceleration, that valve should be closed and the computer is none the wiser.

Oh and by the way, I'm willing to bet you have a fair size boost leak thats causing your problems.

true it would be between shifts actually. but then again if the BOV is malfunctioning that could be an issue.

Good point though about the boost leak.

Just curious as it did the same to mine at rpm and load when i blew my turbo, are you smoking (burning oil ) at all? does it kill the motor or just not go further?
