the problem started while on the road today.

whenever i rev the engine up high it makes this god awful winding noise. i just had the clutch and possibly flywheel replaced. im not sure if that has anything to do with the problem though.

my car has always idled high.. about 1600 rpms. ever since this new problem started, it idles at 1000.

any ideas on what this noise is ? a friend suggested something about a push rod knocking but that could be a long shot. he was half guessing.

i appreciate your time ! thanks

i also noticed that while shifting through gears, the rpms drop rapidly. so fast that sometimes the car will stall out while driving.

balance shaft ???

Sounds like something with the flywheel to me. Check the torque on each bolt and etc, you make be loose on some and crank may be wiggling around a bit.. I'm no genious but thats what I would think. :dsm:
