noise at 3000 RPMS

in my 96 rs after about 3000 RPMs i get a radling noise coming form what sounds like the engine. I had my uncle check out the car when i got it (he does auto body work but still knows a lot about cars)he says that its a suspension problem. He said my aunts old talon or laser (not sure which one) had the same problem. There is a recall on the lower ball arm join or something like that which is part of the suspension. Someone said they had the same problem and it was the resinator. also there is a lot of vibration comming from the engine mount(the one above the right tire near timming belt). If i shift above 3000 rpms to a gear where it drops below 3000rpms smoothly it will continue to make noise until i let go of the accelerator. It almost sounds like an aftermarket intake.
