Can oil overfill cause check engine light

Changed the oil three days ago, for some reason i poured all 5q in it, and today the check engine light came on first blinking and now its on, the car kinda didn't want to accelerate for a second. Could it be because of that? Its 420a btw.

A cel will be caused by a issue with the ecu or sensors, it may be another issue check the wiring.

Have the code scanned. Your local AutoZone or Oreilys does it for free and can give you an idea what the problem is.

You said you put 5 quarts in , did you drain/ adjust the level so that it's not overfull? a flashing cel indicates a misfire but definitely go have it scanned so you can get a handle on what to look at!
