Can oil overfill cause check engine light

Changed the oil three days ago, for some reason i poured all 5q in it, and today the check engine light came on first blinking and now its on, the car kinda didn't want to accelerate for a second. Could it be because of that? Its 420a btw.
 
You said you put 5 quarts in , did you drain/ adjust the level so that it's not overfull? a flashing cel indicates a misfire but definitely go have it scanned so you can get a handle on what to look at!
