Can my 3bolt ring & pinion go on a 4 bolt?

I came across a 4bolt rear with a lsd for cheap. Come to find out its from an auto and I have a manual. Can the ring and pinion be swapped out from my 3 bolt to my 4 bolt? I know i'll have to shim and make adjustments due to the different ratio. I'm just concerned with whether they will bolt up or if there is a difference size interally on the carrier.

According to CAPS available at www.manualcd.com the ring and pinion have the same part number on the 3 bolt and 4 bolt, so they're swappable.

thanks for the info and site. i was going to look into part numbers. i'll measure things while its apart to double check. i feel a lot better now.
