Ok, being disheartened by the lack of 420 N/T DSM parts available from alot of sites ive been wondering.....
Since the Neon is also a 420A motor, and the engine bay isnt THAT much larger (a bit, but not massively so) would that mean that most (not all, most) performance bolt-ons for the neon would also be compatable with my 96 RS?

If anybody has tried this id be interested to hear about it, especially which parts work and which dont in respect to placement/size/etc as this idea is seriously interesting me as of late...

It seems that you are new here and don't know where to find parts for the 420a platform.Forget about the neon, this is a list of websites that have parts for the 420a.

www.conceptillusions.com(a good amount of parts for us) (under construction)
www.howellautomotive.com (alot of parts for us)
www.exileracing.com(a good amount of parts for us)
www.modernperformance.com(a good amount of parts for us)
www.ssautochrome.com (very little parts)
www.rbperformance.com(very little parts)
www.ebay.com (of course) :D

The next few website are places you can start a turbo kit or buy a complete.

www.turbocalculator.com
www.enhancedmotorsports.com
www.thestreetsource.net (under construction)
www.hahnracecraft.com
www.overboost.com (A Place to buy the Star Turbo Kit)

This is all I can remember, anyone out there please add to this list to help this young fellow out. :thumb:

We have plenty of websites that supports us, you just have to find them.

Ive been to em all already actually, as well as all the links in the sponsors pages and followed most links posted posted elsewhere on the forums.
Just seems that choice is a little...limited. Didnt answer my question though, but thanks for the links.

Well the sites that I post are enough for a decent ride. What are you looking for that is not offer by these websites.

Well first off, im looking for headers and manifolds just to start with, which is why i asked the Neon question. The best selection seems to be from Howell and yet alot of the stuff seems to be a little shoddy (just what i can tell from pictures! dont flame me!) Also, im looking for a new Throttle body (which i found incidentally, a bored one on a neon site.....and the add said its universal so it would proably work on an eclipse, no?)

our heads are backwards with the neon 420 and ours so intake/exaust parts are totally different.I don't now about the tb from the neon to ours,I have a jeep tb on my car.

Ahhh, ok thanks for the explanation. That clears it up for me.

The Neon and the Eclipse TB's are not a direct fit. They will bolt right in to place, the sensors are the same but the section where the throttle cable attaches is not the same. Your best bet is to find a TB specifically for the 420A. You can piece the two together if you want but just be aware that the throttle plate to throttle body housing allows for very little error.

The mopar performance valve springs will fit, the PT Cruiser lifters and followers will fit. The after market coils for the neons will fit the eclipse, and the DOHC mopar performance wires will fit.

The Greddy 4-1 header is not shoddy. It's got nice welds, nice long runners and has given me no problems over the last year and a half. Of the name brand headers most people talk about on here, I've not really heard anyone complain too much about the quality of the ones they purchased. Most of the negativity comes from opinions and not first hand experience.

Thanks Doug, very informative, and its a bit suprising to see that PT Cruiser lifters are also compatable. Thats one i never would of guessed.

No problem. I know first hand because I've got the lifters and followers in the eclipse now. No problems and a bit more protection on the followers for high RPMs.

How about the intake manifold? Does anyone knows if it's gonna fit? There's that really nice Indy/Howell intake manifold that I wish I can put on my car but seems like they have it listed for Neon DOHC

doesnt look like it man, apparently our engines are reversed from what theyve been telling me.

Dustyb, i see an AFX 55mm bored TB but no 60mm one on the site...

EDIT: NM, found it...

They have the 60mm TB now, but no point if I can't have a 60mm ported intake manifold
me want both :D

this is a common misconception

yes the neon engine is a 420A, but the head is reveresed. it is set-up so that the neon exhaust manifold is on the side of the dsm 420A's intake manifold. this means no neon manifolds or intakes.

i though the same thing to for the longest time, dont feel stupid.
