Nah bro, you won't lost power. You can put a 3" exhaust while running any turbo you please. In all honesty, the T-28 will run better with the stock downpipe and exhaust becuase its so small and significant that it likes the slight restriction. But to answer your question, you can put a 3" exhaust from turbo back if you want, Id recommend stock exhaust, but you'l be fine, 3" won't hurt ya if your hearts set on it:). Take care, Artist.

Im just afraid of looseing power, but i dont think i will buy N/A eclipses would becuase of back pressure i believe

you will gain alot of power from a 3 inch exhaust, turbo cars benefit hugely from exhaust systems, however it is recommended that you port the t25 when running a bigger exhaust to avoid boost creep.. also, if u dont plan on makeing huge power with the car you can just get a 2.5" exhaust and save some money.

Port the 02 housing moreso than the turbo itself. hog out the wastegate passage on the turbo if you want. Should help with boost creep

I just went through this, just get a 2.5 inch and be happy, i had a 3 inch turbo back and i got boost creep so bad it was spiking a 23psi on the stock turbo, and i would get a fuel cut everytime i floored it, i just swapped out my 3" for a 2.5" turboback and it runs like it should now.:dsm:

are u sure it will do that o shyt............ but im getting a cat-back will i still have boost creep? isnt the stock pipeing already 2.5??

No a cat back wont give you boost creep. And every car is different, some guys run 3" tbe's and see no creep ever and some guys creep to fuel cut like the above poster.

A cat back wont hurt you but your gains will be minimal with the stock downpipe and catalytic converter in the way.

Wow. First off, It is a greddy 3" catback exhaust. I would know because he bought it from me. He still has a stock downpipe/cat. He DOES NOT have a 3" downpipe/testpipe or cat.. I did not get ANY boost creep with the FULL 3" TURBOBACK exhaust. I've had 8 dsms, And NEVER encountered boostcreep. Why would he ''settle'' for a 2 1/2" catback exhaust when he got a mint condition greddy evo 3" catback for basically the price of a new muffler, I'm just curious?

The first thing I did to my car was put a full 3" turbo-back exhaust. Never had any boost creep issues on the stock turbo. I have a cat-delete downpipe too. Now my new 16g, well boost creep on that is a whole different story....

False, yes the t25 is small but the same rule still applies, the less the restriction the better for turbo cars. The larger exhaust will not only decrease your spool time but it will help out your top end as well, which is really lacking with the t25.

I'm in CALI also. Your just going to settle for a catback? A lot of us here in the Bay run 3" turbobacks, and some with crazy setups. You can still pass smog and not be too loud with a 3" turboback. (depending on the components used) Sorry I'm an advocate for modding DSMs at least to run mid to low 12s. :) If your going to port anything, the o2 housing and the manifold. Port the t25? I would find a reason to get rid of it. :)
