3 inch exhaust 2 big 4 stock t25?

I have a mostly stock car with the cheap mods intake, ported t25, 1st gen bov, boost controller and a 3" turbo back apexi n1 exhasut w/ no cat ......which brings my question up i get mad turbo lag/creep....... should i go with a 2.5" downpipe, high flow cat, or just get exhaust manifold and o2 housing ported if so how much would that cost whats the best call 2 do??

Even a 14b will help you out. They go for around $100. Flows almost twicethe amount of air and cost less than what you could get for your turbo from some honda guy.;)
 
Yup. you can buy a cheap 14b and once you swap it you can probably sell you t25 for as much as you got the 14b.
 
You should be spooling quicker than before the exhaust.

A bigger difference in pressure and heat between the ex. mani. and the O2 housing causes more energy to be transfered into the turbine and spool the turbo. This doesn't make sense to me.
 
3 inch is not to big for a 2g with the stock t25. I had a full 3inch buschur racing exhaust on my 97 talon with the stock t25 and it had great spool up and pretty much no creep, so i would say you most likely have a vaccum leak :confused:
 
so a 14b would help out?
whats the difference between lag and creep?
it just takes a while 2 spool up and the 14b wont die off like the t25 right?
 
Im going with a full 3" exhaust no cat BUT leaving in my stock 2.5 down pipe. I have a 90 tsi awd so its gunna be great spool up! Id imagen if your car is boost leak free then most likely the 3 inch will be damn good for power. Id still take the advice of the other guys and go with a 14b.

I got the same mods except I got rid of a cat and have hard ic pipes. I'm going to have to say once you port your wastegate side of your turbo you would/should be fine because thats honestly what fixed my problem with creeping.

*ps* Port your turbos wastegate side.
 
I have a 3inch o2-eliminator turbo-back exhaust on the t-25 with no creep issues. I do have the stock UICP and BOV though.

It bolts onto the manifold, but you need some other stuff first.

You need either an install kit from RRE or somewhere like that, or you need the oil lines form a 1G, and aplug for the oil filter.

a 14b is really a great mod. I'm putting one on soon. They really give you a nice kick for the buck. You can also work onall your supporting mods for a larger turbo, and try to push as much power as you can outta that thing. Some guys have gone mid-high 12's on a 14b. You can even tell people you have a stock turbo on your car if they ask!
 
correction, some guys have gone 11's on the 14b now, yes thats right i said 11's! but your right the 14b is a good turbo upgrade for the money compared to the t25
 
I have the stock downpipe, with the cat and then my apexi n1 catback. No prolems yet....Im going to get the rest of it later this year, but it sounds nice and the pick up is nice. I have the stock turbo, seems to bring it alive more, i don't know :thumb:
