I called some many places today about getting my exhaust done. I have all the pipe I just need to get it cut and bent for downpipe and the other little bends. I need to get a flex pipe, and converter. I was told they wouldn't let me use my own piping due to they could bend my piping and crush it. They was going to charge me $450 for their piping and install. One place was going to charge $350 using my piping I was like wtf? Does anybody have and idea how to use the 3 inch piping without buying a downpipe?

You can buy the bends seperately, cut the pipes with a plasma cutter (fastest) or a dremel (slowest), then weld them together yourself with a welder that you can get from a local welding shop. You are going to need flanges, a muffler, cat, flex, and the mandrel bends. Just look how you want to make the piping and get the parts accordingly.

Man, sounds like their dishing out some BS. They would probably "accidentally " crush you pipe, but seriously, on a crush bender it would have a good chance of flattening out (happend to me with 2.5"). You could buy some universal, mandrel bent, "U" bends in 3" then have them cut the appropriate bends/curves and weld it to straight pipe to make your exhaust. Its not hard to do, they just want more money and labor to be put in to the project. They need to make money some how too.

It might be so much cause of the converter, I know I needed one for my Cavalier when I had it a few years ago and it was $250 just for the converter...
