I am buying a 92 laser awd turbo and the guy is going to throw in a full 3 inch exhaust (3 inch dp, 3 inch high flow cat, and 3 inch catback). I REALLY do NOT want boost creep, i wouldnt mind 1-2 psi spikes but i really dont want it flyin up more than that. Soooo i researched and researched and found that the thing that would probably help most is a bigger o2 housing. So my question is would a 2.5 inch o2 housing prevent boost creep on a full 3 inch exhaust with the stock 14b turbo?? If not how much will it prevent it or what else would i need?

It still may creep with a bigger O2 housing if the wastegate passage isn't ported. However, I put an O2 dump on my stock 2G O2 housing (no porting) and it elminated boost creep all together. This was with a full 3", catless exhaust on a 14b.

hmmm i dont want to run an open dump since im in california and cops are hella strict around here. how much do you think a 2.5 inch recirculating o2 housing would prevent boost creep on a full 3 inch exhaust?

Dump will get you in trouble for emission reasons rather than just the loudness.

But, just out of curiosity, why is it that you dont want it to creep? because you still have stock fuel setup? or you simply want to run 10 psi and not a single lb more?
simple fix will be to get your feet out of WOT, or turn the boost controller all the way down.
or if you want to spend cash get a tubular o2 housing recirculated and a 34mm flapper.

On the other hand if you run a cat that will keep some backpressure, but if you run a testpipe you're more likely to creep, so I dont see why you should creep alot of boost.

Care to tell us what are you doing with the car: racing? daily driven?

Port the wastegate passage on the turbo, get a recirculated tubular O2 housing, and it should elminate the creep.

oh alright, im just goin for a daily driven fast car around 300hp. i dont mind if it creeps a few psi but the guy my friend bought the 3 inch exhaust from said he ran the 3 inch exhaust on the stock o2 housing and the psi spiked to 22 and 2 of his pistons cracked. I dont mind if my psi spikes 2-3 psi but i dont want it going from 15 psi to 22 and mess up my engine.
