can I half way install a a wideband kit?

I have a question.im hoping someone can answer for me. I just got an lc1 wideband kit and was looking to instal it but looks like I have to wait longer to install the wideband sensor because of I got lift the car to remove the o2 housing out to remove the stock o2 sensor. So one to the question can I install the gauge and all of the wiring to the lc1 kit and be fine until I get time to put the wideband sensor in. I was thinking of splicining into the 02 from the ecu not completely cutting the harness wire out. That way if for some reason I got to use the front o2 like it was stockI can just replace the the wideband with a stock o2 and just pulg Iit to the regular harness. Things that might not be on my profile. I got dsmlink 2.5, fmic, boost controller, hks bov. I got 720cc injectors but waiting to get 250 walbro and afpr.
 
I'm assuming you intend on simulating a narrowband? I highly recommend against this. Widebands get eaten up by the heat. Some may have been successful running a wideband in the stock location, but many, many more have had issues with widebands dying after relatively little operational time. I would honest just take you car to a local Meineke. They'll weld in an o2 bung on your downpipe for less than $60. Do it right and do it once. I'd put it right in the bend below your oil return.

To answer your question: Yes, you can do whatever you want. The plug where the wideband is supposed to plug in will corrode in the meantime, and you'll eventually be asking why your car runs like a bag of a$$holes after you removed your stock O2 sensor, but you can, and most likely will, do whatever you want. Enjoy!
 
You need to lift the car too remove the o2 housing???? For what it's worth I'd just wait till u have the sensor in before you go cutting wires.

correct me if i am wrong i read several threads and in emclink and inovate site/install sensor has to be calibrated. so can't put the sensor in if you got to do a free air calibration and in order to do that all wire install must be done.

no disrespect man, I was just saying rather then doing half of the job then waiting around to do the other half, it would be a lot more simple to do everything at one time.
