Can I beat him?

Ok guys here's the deal...This kid wants to race me, He drives a 94 civic 5 speed with a cat-back exhaust on it, i drive a 93 talon ES automatic. The only thing i did to my car was a tuner muffler and a K&N filter, so basically nuthin. I just wanna know if i can beat him or not so if anybody knows, hit me up ASAP!
