Came back from alignment shop, suspension damaged

Just came back from the alignment shop today after installing a camber kit yesterday thinking it will be all good, well, guess not, the alignmen guy told me I should replace the hub and the lower control arm for the passanger side.
Even then, he said it might not fix the problem, so Im thinking I should just get a full passanger side suspension, the control arm alone cost like 150.
Anyways Im just wondering which control arm is it, he said there are two different ones such as a L-shaped and straight-I-shaped.

Also anyone know if the fwd suspensions fits the awd models? im planning on picking up a complete suspension from the junkyard but they said its for a gst model.

The problem is that the wheel go towards the rear more on the passanger side, I can fit like 4 fingers on the drivers side gap between the rear of the tire and the door, but on the passanger side I can barely fit 2 fingers.
Im seriously thinking of selling this piece of junk, I couldve had a 10 sec car if I didnt have to put all this money into matinence

Your suspension must have been damaged in an accident if the passenger and driver side wheels are that off. Do you know what happened or the history of the car?

You probably will have to replace some suspension components.

ouch... I would just replace the stuff. You already have a GSX and those are hard to come by, at least out in MD. I know people who would buy that shit up in a heartbeat, granted its not completely wasted

Dont forget the factory recall for the lower ball joint on 2Gs. They replace the lower control arm for this recall. This being a safety recall, they have to do it no matter what. If the dealership refuses, just cut to the BS and ask them to write you a letter specifically stating that they are refusing the recall. If they are dumb enough to write this letter, subit to mitsu headquarters and you should get your service real quick.

Of course, it helps to not be an asshole when asking for something free from a dealership, and it also helps if you are a regular customer (as I was) buying various parts, ect.

I had no choice, I needed a car, I drove 400 miles to pick another gsx up, guess what the seller does... he freaggin calls me after i drive 400! miles(im like 50 miles away from his location) and he calls me and tells me the car sold for a lesser price than what I offered, and since gsxs are hard to come by where I live, I had another sellers number that was another 150miles away but I wasnt really interested in that car, but I ended up getting it due to the big scammer that made me drive 400 miles for nothing, just to #### with me, I cant believe people would do that, after that I wouldnt trust anyone. I talked to him for 2 weeks straight calling him daily because he said it would take him 2 weeks to get a pink slip, hope that mofo dies.

luckily, its not walking, it has 130k miles and has no signs on crankwalk, but who knows?

They can NOT deny the recall, since it's a safety recall, and therefore good for the life of the car. That's not to say they won't try, but I'd take No_Skillz advice and have them write you a letter stating that they're denying it.

fastestdsm for future reference and safety! a Mitsu dealer can't deny a recall on your car even if it was done already by a previous owner. I was about to sue somebody , and I did a lot of research on the recall issues. I had a T case recall , and they wanted to play games with me, and bs me at 1st.
As long as you got a title and the car is registered they are not supposed to deny you...they say they can but you gottta be the biggest biat*h not them
In the end I told the service manager face-2-face at a local Mitsu dealer that if my T case locks up on me at 70MPH , and I make it alive I'lll .....you get the picture

PS: I wanted some evidence quick so I just recorded the phone conversation works faster that way
I talked abt the issue on a law forum, and one of the lawyers said that they can get out if you got a Salvage title and the car had not been registered in 5-7 years ..something like that, otherwise grabb the phone and call the Mitsu Motors U.S , and don't worry much

$150 would be a great deal for a new one. MSRP is $234. I paid $170 for mine.

ok so I called the dealership, I complained, its union mitsubishi and indeed they do have a recall on the lower control arm, but the dealership says the recall is only on the front lower control arm, I need the rear lower control arm...
can anyone confirm this? here is a picture of the part I need, not the lower control arm thats straight, I need the one thats curved like this... is this covered under the recall as well? this is the problem im having, I guess previous owner did fix except for this, I had to measure this to see that it was damaged, otherwise, no one wouldve seen that it was damaged just by looking at it..

please someone confirm this, cause if the dealership was lying to me, I will go up to them and tell them straight up what happend.

As stated, the front suspension is the same...the rear is what's different.

Yes, it's the front (straight) control arm that is recalled.

The dealer has to do the recall on the car one time and their done. They note the vin number in "some" database for recalls and it will never be done free of charge again. Unless you're a total dic*.

I would go to the wrecking yards to see if you can find some of the components, it would be a lot cheaper than new from the dealer. Or you could check these guys:

ok well the recall isnt worth anything to me then because it only replaces the front lca, I need the rear lca.
I checked ebay and someone selling brand new ones for 80 bucks, I dont know why its so cheap.. but should i give it a try?

Front or Rear? Which is it?

I believe you are talking about the front suspension but you keep throwing the word "rear" in there. The arm covered by the recall is the lateral control arm and they are pretty cheap. The one in the photo above is the compression control arm they cost a lot more and are not covered by any recalls. If you can find a new compression control arm for $80, that would be a great deal.
