Ok like the title says I'm looking for cam recommendations for a auto trans car with a gt35r turbo. I am getting my engine built soon and my shop said they would go with hks 272's. I know that cam grinds differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. Does this seam like a good set up? Any one running a 35r on a auto ? If so let me know what cams please

I would go with 272's...... hks are good but theres cams out there that do the same for a better price. With HKS your paying more for the brand name than the cams. Kelford 272's cams would be the same or better for a great price. To bad FP doesnt sale there FP2 cams anymore those where also some awesome cams.

I'm looking for 500-550 at the wheels. I not sure on converter.

272s will be enough for your goals. A lot of guys seem to be making the switch to the 280s, too. Keep in mind you should purchase upgraded valvetrain components as well
Yeah, you will need a larger converter or shot of nitrous of the line

Im pretty sure FP still sells the FP2's. Its the FP2x's they stopped making.

What rpm will be your redline and where will you shift? What size motor (2.0, 2.3, 2.4)? This info is needed for me to suggest a cam.

I do suggest going with a well known cam company. The cheaper regrinds have not performed as well in some dyno tests but they are priced well. If your going to run that turbo and you have a 2.0L revving to about 8k rpms I suggest kelford 272's over hks.

A higher stall convertor is needed for your turbo/cams.
I personaly use 264/272 combos for keen street use.
HKS 264 inlet cams can be 10.8mm or 10.3mm lift
HKS 272 exhaust cams can be 10.2mm or 9.8mm lift
The lower lift ones don't need stiffer springs = less ware.
I use Evo 3 springs, which have 20lb more seat pres.
The part# for the lower lift HKS cams are
IN 2202-RM003 & OUT 2202-RM006
If you go 272/272, I'd like to hear about your results.
Cheers !
