I have been doing alot of research and can't seem to find anything or much on the td05 20g cam upgrade recommendations. I was leaning towards FP2 but do they still sell new? so no I was looking at the Combo set that Forcedperformance sells aiming at the Brian Crower 268/272 with the retainer and springs set. My profile is up date and atteched is a snapshot of it. Planning to get it tuned as soon as I install the cams so any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

engine is all bolt ons no head or block work done. 7 bolt 105k original miles.

Ok so since my car is at 104k, I decided to spend more money on the maintanance areas such as a timing belt kit, arp head studs, revived lifters, (valve locks;not maint but something I'd have to get anyways). As much as I wanted to get an HKS or GSCs just on the listed above already costed me around $500 already so for me to spend another $500 or so on just cams and the another $200 or so on retainers and springs would be too much for me at the moment. Therefore I decided to go with the Brian Crower 268/272 combo with retainers/springs. I figured I'd give it a try to see where things go. If I'm I plan to upgrade later I can sell it for what it's worth and by then I'll have more cash and will already have upgraded springs/retainers so yea,.. again I would love to get a more expensive set but it's a budget issue at this time (although I e also read good reviews as well) and priority towards maintenance. thanks again for all the help!
With my experiences in using BC 280s, FP4Rs, and comp 101200s, you'll be very satisfied with the results of your cam choice. And as you upgrade, that added breathing ability will enhance your airflow gains. Rock on

If your budget is the issue the wiser choice would be to not buy any camshafts and save the money you'd waste on a cheaper set for a better set later on. Especially since you plan on replacing them again anyways.

I'm not planning to replace unless I change setups in the future but I don't think that will happen at all. Not with the stock motor at least.

Ps. It's the wife's budget she's allowing me to throw on the car LOL however I fee confident about these cams for my setsup.

I am happy to see that you are taking the time / money to maintain the car. While I wouldn't have personally chosen the cams you used, I hope they work out well for you! I understand it being tough to drop $1,000 at one shot. These cars used to be "fast for cheap". However, with age, and the general lack of care, the "cheap" has kinda gone by the wayside. As long as you keep up with things, you'll have good luck with the car. Make sure you let us know your thoughts (write a review) on the cams. It's been a while since I've personally dealt with BC stuff (broken valve spring and 2 retainers), so hopefully they have stepped up their game and are doing things better now! I'm a little confused why you feel the need to replace the valve locks? (or maybe you meant valve stem seals)? If you didn't mean valve stem seals, you should also look at replacing them while you have the car apart. Viton are they best one's to use (viton material, not a brand name). Keep at it!

A word to the wise: Keep the rpm limit fairly low (sub 8,000 RPM) with using cams and stock springs (wasn't sure if you were using stock or BC valve springs). If a spring fails it's most likely going to end up with the piston hitting a valve, and requiring a head rebuild. Just something to be aware of.

Thanks! I am hoping for the same. Thanks for the tip as well. I'm not sure why I got the lockers actually. For some reason I thought it's something I needed to replace or should haha. I guess it'll

I would upgrade valve springs while you are in there. You can rev out to 7500 no problem and really take advantage of that 20g and a cam upgrade.

As far as the cam selection, there are more than one good choice. But Kelford 272s seem to work very well. Though something smaller like a GSC S1 or Crane 264 would most likely suit your 20gs air flow better down in the mid range of the powerband. Good luck.

He is also upgrading t5he spring with he cams.

After reading keltalons BC test I went with BC276 cams for my 2.3 stroker. I called the company and they gave me a deal.

Before I made my cam purchase I read everything on BC. I already purchased supertech dual valve springs or I would have went BC. I was very impressed with that company after talking to them and emailing them.

I haven't ran their stuff so my opinion holds no weight. But I've emailed and called other companies that didn't give me the time of day let alone a deal on cams.

I do have personal experience those 276s are a beast of a cam. 608lbs of torque is no laughing matter really speaks volume on the streetability of the cam! I am running bc dual valve springs I switch from the old gsc beehive that floated and damaged my head.
