Is it safe to run BC 272 cams with stock springs, retainers, and valves? thats currently my set up and i want to know if i should be worried that the cams are too much for the stock stuff.

the reason im asking is because im pretty sure i bent a valve due to a timing issue i resolved. my car wont start now. cranks once then makes a whine noise and the stock boost gauge slowly rises after first crank so im pulling to head to look at valves and most likely replace. i dont have money atm for upgraded valves, retainers, and springs.
