cam question

just got the cam sensor in today was going to put it on but i cant get the cam to slip in...do i need to take the gear off and if i do will it make it hard for me to set the time later on?

You can usually clamp the t belt on the gear with a pair of vice grips. Use a rag between the vice grips and belt so you don't damage the belt. Then you can unbolt the gear and keep the belt/timing intact. It can be a little tricky, but you should be fine if you take your time.

Check out the cam install on vfaq, it tells you everything you need to know about changing the cams. You may want to look into replacing your cam seals while the cams are out, and zipties would be better to hold the timing belt to the cam gears.
