Cam Install Hard to start in the cold

All right so i just got done installing my cams. Ive broken them in and driven the car a bit. Its cold out here in VA. The problem is that if the car has been left sitting in the cold it has trouble starting. At first i thought it was my cas. I check the cas and it was not aligned correctly. I fixed that and the problem went away for a couple days. This morning it was really really cold, and the car was hard to crank again. I dont know whats up could it be my coolant temp sensor?

Was it hard to crank over (cranked slowly) or did it take a while to start.

If it cranks slowly then you have a weak battery that is being affected by the cold. And you probably need a new one.

No its not the starter or the battery. The battery is new and it cranks fine. It affected it before with the stock cams but it only happened twice and each time it happened i started it again and it fired right up. But now it takes longer. Its cranks and cranks and it will fire but not idle.

In all of my experience this is pretty normal for performance cams. They are simply harder to start than when your running a stock cam. The more performance you build a car the less reliable it gets to extreme conditions. Try getting a formula one car to idle below 40 degrees.

I wonder if you could get a new chip that has a tweaked start up enrichment. It may need a bit more/less fuel.
