ok, I have searched everywhere for even a hint of an answer to my question, but can't really find anything too helpful.

I am basically looking for a good starting point for the timing of my cam gears. I understand that no two engines are alike and that the performance that you get from adjusting the gears are different depending upon your mods. What I am looking for is someone that is familiar with making these adjustments on their 1g non-turbo with similar mods and the type of results that they received from them. I am not sure whether to retard the intake/exhaust or to advance them, or one of each. I am looking to gain on the upper end of the power band since when you are racing through the gears, it never drops below 4500 to 5000rpms anyway. :thumb:

Basically I just want to know where to start with my trial and errors. There are just too many possibilities to go with. A little help would be nice.

Come on guys....:( Any advice at all would be appreciated. I just need a hint in the right direction is all. I find it hard to believe that everyone out there who buys cam gears just leaves them at TDC. Someone has to have some info or a link of where to go to find out more info. Please!

yeah, that information seems to be pretty helpful and I have been using that as a guide so far. But I was hoping for a more personal opinion of someone who actually dialed in some numbers and had some good results. I would prefer to have an idea before I either go to the track and run 20 laps or take it to a dyno and pay a fortune. Obviously the less time I spend guessing the better off I will be. But thanks for the help, really appreciate someone out there willing to lend a helping hand.:thumb:

Anybody else out there have any other advice. Either way I am going to be doing this the hard way. I would just prefer to listen to what others did and compare my results to theirs. So let me know DSMer's! Why do why buy these cam gears if we don't adjust them for performance.
