1G C clamped brakes, now pedal is spongy, WTF?

I'm a lil' stumped...I changed the pads and did as usual. C clamped the piston and now the pedal goes further to the floor and feels spongy or airy. Only thing different i did was forgot to take the resavoir lid off while clamping them. Could this cause air to build up in the system? It was almost perfect before this other than neeing pads. Its the front BTW.

Always bleed the calipers when changing the pads. You want to get rid of the old fluid in the system not push it back into the lines. Best to flush it all out now and make sure you have clean fluid.

Just don't use a c-clamp in the rear. The rear calipers need to thread in due to the integrated parking brake.
