Hey guys Just a quick simple question im sure you guys can help with. My car had this drift body kit on when i bought it 2 yrs ago. Now im 2 weeks away from painting it but im putting on a 2gb bumper and the stock rear as well (I have both already). My question is are there stock skirts under the kit? I dont know how kits are mounted so excuse my noobness. im pretty sure it would look weird if i leave the drift skirts so best option ###...

yeah the bodykit thing really isnt my style and im looking to just get that clean look back. I also wanna get the factory highrise spoiler but that can wait. i gotta hunt for these skirts and a set of 2gb headlights ### i dont want that gap.

:barf:

there aren't stock side skirts under there

kudos on putting her back to stock :thumb:

Fads are :barf:

Like everyone having to look exactly the same. The fad was body kits and everyone had one. Now the fad is stock, when done right to a very very clean car looks good, but still now everyone had to look stock.

Stock look on an average car with average paint just looks boring and stock...

Plus it doesnt matter anyway because the car is a n/t so it will never turn heads in the performance category. All i was saying is it doesnt look all that bad, besides the undersized wheels. If all your going for is appearance 19's look great in the 2g wheel well.

You could put some stock 2GA Talon side skirts on if the Eclipse skirts are hard to find. If you search through the site vendors or google I'm sure you could find OEM body parts.

sounds like you were on the FAD-wagon buddy that kit on his car looks like poop!

stock isnt a Fad thats how they come LOL

but I will agree 18s+ do look good on 2gs but for best performance you gotta stick with 17s IMO

Thanx guys. I appreciate the support and advise. As far as the Fad goes, Im 28 yrs old this is like my 5th car since ive been driving. My fast and furious days are over. Approaching 30 and still rocking flashy kits and every accessory known to man just feels like a mid life crisis LOL. Hope ya understand where im coming from. To each his own.

And your car looks exactly like every other 2g on the road, way to be original.

If you cant see that everyone is reverting back to stock and that being stock is a fad then your are obviously blinded by your own ignorance. Everyone wants to be stock because their so anti-rice, even though they just finished taking their f&f kit off last week. Its annoying.

Every 2g on the road has to run the 2gb stuff, its boring and predictable.

Besides, the stock look only works for exceptionally clean cars, like gofer's, etc.

That car doesnt seem flashy to me. No spoiler, lowered, its looks pretty sleek. Only down side like i said, was that the kit magnifies the already large wheel wells. A nice set of 19's would fill them nicely. Theres a black 2g n/t on here with 19's that looks great.

Not trying to change anyones mind, thats my opinion, nothing more.

:applause:

I have never owned a single car with any kind of body kit, and you can make most cars look sick just by lowering them, clean wheels, nice stance. I get compliments on my Talon and my G35 every time time I drive them and they both stand out and look clean and are bone stock besides wheels and lowered.

to each their own

Most people seem to get over body kits when they realize they can't legally bang the girls that those kits attract, and they girls they can bang, are laughing at them. My .02 from having driven my buddy's kitted honda around a few times

the skirts in that picture dont look that bad, I might just rock with the ones I got till I get back home to Cali. Got a 2000 mile drive ahead of me. Think I will have to do a little fitment test just to see how it will look.

I have those exact same side skirts on my car. They came with the car when I purchased it and I thought about removing it but got too lazy. Plus I don't think it looks that bad, makes the car look a little different. In any case I still get compliments but to each their own.

I'm not sure what kind of "girls" body kits are suppose to attract but I don't think that's the reason most people switch off them. Oh and in my opinion if a girl is laughing at a guy or you and your buddies I think its more of a personal thing rather then a car thing.

If you're painting it, remove the spoiler and have the shop weld and fill the holes, that way when you get the hi-rise all you have to paint is the spoiler, drill the new holes and install :aha:

edit: and don't forget the leftover paint for that :thumb:
