buying a fpr

I'm looking to buy a FPR.

Curious what brand model i should get for my 97 GST.
I don't wish to get an aftermarket fuel rail, so what FPR's will fit the stock 2g rail?

Also, ive heard horror stories of guys having to dremmel the TB casing away to fit the FPR kits. I'd prefer not having to cut into anything if i end up upgrading.

Any comments please?

I don't know why they would have to dremmel the TB casting since the AFPR goes at the timing belt side of the fuel rail. The only thing that I can think of is that's where they had to mount the AFPR. I'm not exactly sure since a 2g engine bay is more crowded than a 1g.

As far as which brand is good that fits a stock rail, most Aeromotive EFI regulators will work. Import Evolution has some nice kits that come with everything you need to install. Here is the kit I'm looking at:

And if you don't want to buy a kit, you can always pick up almost any universal AFPR (I prefer the Aeromotive 13109) and use this article to plumb it.

what would be a better suit for my application.

will replacing the FPR improve gas mileage? I feel i still run rich at times, and last time I was tuned the guy told me its hard to tune my car w/out dsm link and a FPR.

How much does the OEM evo unit go for?

Get one of the fpr's people here recommend. Those fpr's have proven themselves time after time.

I've heard some people say there gas mileage was improved afterwards. Since they were dumping as much fuel because of the lower fuel pressure. It will be easier to tune with an adjustable fpr because the fuel curves will be more stable. With the overrun stock fpr, the fuel curves are not as stable and it's difficult to get a good tune because of that. There's a ton of this information on this site.

I run an Aeromotive AFPR and it works great for me.
