I was speaking with my buddy about upgrades that I plan to do to my car. One of these upgrades was new headers. He told me not to put aftermarket headers on because he heard from a friend of his that when he put them on his, it burned oil away really fast. To me, this didn't sound all that correct but I could very well be wrong.

Could someone please tell me the truth to this myth?

Headers only increase the flow of exhaust gasses out of your engine. They won't make that big of a difference on the performance of your car though. Even if they COULD make the oil burn the amount of effect they put on the engine wouldn't be enough to really cause any problems unless your engine was on the brink of disaster, which if it were, you would know from other signs :thumb:
