I've almost dug completely into my pocket books and i'm about to start buying all the performance parts for my GS. I got the turbo and intercooler, now just to make sure my list is complete, what else should i have for the engine/tranny. thx.

umm a lot, if you are doing a N/A to turbo swap, then I can't see how you are asking this question...I think you need to do a little more research first, but for starters, manifold, injectors, fuel pump, fuel controller, lots of other supporting mods....and time....

LOL a turbo and an intercooler, sounds like you got it pretty much summed up right there.

if only it was so simple. so with all this added airflow what are you doing about adding more fuel to compensate? youre gonna need bigger pump and injectors. ah now were running too rich, time for some tuning parts. datalogger setup and a safc2 should suffice. ah now ready for more than 7lbs of boost? cause then youre gonna have to do something to the internals of that little 420a, some forged pistons and rods, crank. might as well port and polish the head while its off to increase airflow to the cylinders. ah now were almost there. maybe some hks cams and gears to get better response than those pesky stockers. ah and hows all this power going to make it to the ground? youre stock clutch is gonna give, so time for either act clutch or clutchmasters or something better than stock. ah and tires, need nice sticky ones cause torque steer is something you have no idea of until the first time you hit it in 1st and your car tries to drive itself off the road.

ok you do the math
190lph pump - 150-200$
bigger injectors, 550's - 450$
datalogger setup+palm pilot - 300$
apexi safc2 - 350$
boost controller - 150$
forged internals - 1000$+
port work - 200$
hks cams - 400$
better clutch - 300$+

3350 is what i got over here. not to mention what you paid for the turbo and the front mount. well say 2 grand for both those, so 5350. if you looked hard enough im sure you couldve found a gst for around that price.

but as i know some peopl ehave an attachment to their cars. so going turbo with the n/t is your plan then you have just recieved your partslist.

You really dont need that much to turbo the GS...Take this from someone who did it 7 times already (not a 4g63 owner that just wants you to buy a GST or GSX)....if you are going to be running anything less than 10 psi all you need is an FMU, some type of turbo manifold (custom plates can even be welded), use NGK BKR7E plugs, and a missing link so your check engine light wont come on...thats pretty much it (except hoses and lines of course)....ive done it all including buying the turbo and a side mount intercooler for a friend for $600

...if you would have read up there i'm just having somebody make up a list to CHECK my list twice to make sure i have everything written down.

Then it might be better, to show us your full list, so we can check and make sure its correct, and tell you what else you need....but from how you typed the post, it looked like you bought a turbo, and an intercooler, and wanted to know if there was anything else needed....

That's quite a list, although you can save alot off of what you put down for prices.
550cc injectors for $450? Scroll to the top of this page and you can get 650's for $309 shipped.
You can make your own manual boost controller for $5, or buy one off Ebay for $15.
There are complete datalogger setups on Ebay for about $100. Not the greatest palm pilot, but it does the job.
Walbro 190 - I bought a 255 Walbro for about $100 shipped from Ebay.

Lets see, according to your prices vs. mine I've already saved him almost $600.

yeah but i was just using the "average" prices up top inside the parts catalog.

but go for it man, if you wanna turbo it take pics and do a writeup. my cousin has a gs and he thinks its gonna be cakewalk to tubro it, id like for you to do a complete writeup so i can give it to him.

when i do everything i'm gonna take complete pictures of it and everything. my friend is a fabricator so we're gonna even take pictures of that. i know its not going to be a cakewalk, it'll actually put my 2g out of comission for about 5-6 weeks if we keep on it all the time.

one other thing, i do need some parts to strengthen my transmission, like the gearbolts and stuff, anybody have a suggestion?

hey thomas, just to let your buddy know, i got a rough draft of all the parts you need to rebuild the 420a to handle a good amount of boost (if he wants a fast car). if he doesn't need but 8-10 lbs of boost he can just buy a weaker turbo kit and strap it on, but for a GS, you have to buy most of this that i'll list, at least its what i'm gonna do.

intake manifold - $600
cams - $400
cam gears - $230
valves/valvesprings/retainers - $250
underdrive pulley kit - $520
pistons/piston shafts - $925
head/head gasket - $500
radiator - $400 (optional, but needs upgrade for excessive amounts of boost, heat kills turbo/engine)
electronic boost control - $450 (they also make cheaper manual boost controls, but...)
air/fuel control system - $400
fuel pump - $200
fuel injectors (660cc) - $120
fuel pressure - $150
turbo - $1000 (roughly)
turbo timer - $120
external wastegate - $400 (depending on turbo)
front mount intercooler kit - $1000
blowoff valve - $225
pocket datalogger - $175
ecu tuning kit - $150
clutch - $350
flywheel - $450 (not necessary, but RPM climbs faster)
total = $9015

it cost a lot for a fast ride =/ it also helps if you "know" people. those are just some numbers thrown around, you don't need all of that unless you want a fast/reliable car. i plan on building my engine new to make sure it'll last me awhile. but if your friend has the time/money, go for it. its a lot of work and very expensive, stupid 420A engines =/ but he will be smokin all the civics =D
