So, options on building my '90 AWD trans. I hear 1g trans' are pretty stout when treated right. Seeing my power goals to be around 550whp, whats necessary to upgrade to handle that power level. Other thing... Is it possible to swap out the 22 spline output shaft for the t-case for a 23, and if so, is the 90' trans the same ratio as the '91-96'? So i can use the 'TRE built' 23 spline t case I have.. Any suggestions is appreciated! :thumb:

The trans is a 22 spline output shaft. I have a modified 23-spline '91-'96 t-case. I want to know if its possible to swap out the output shaft on the trans to a 23 spline so I can run this t-case...

And also if the ratios are the same in the '90 trans as the '91-'96. Like aren't they all the same ratio except 97-99 was different?..

Yes, you can swap out the output shaft. If you are interested in all this you should spend a few days searching and reading. All this is addressed several times on the site. Not trying to be difficult but searching is your best friend. Besides, the more you know about these cars the better off your car will be and you will be a great resource for the site.

I actually just went through this in my car, i had a seized 22 spline and a 23 spline in great shape but it had worn splines, my car is a 1990 so it uses the 22 spline, i took the splined portion of the 22 and used it in the 23, you will need a way to press on and remove the bearings if they are not reusable, not a bad idea to replace the seals also...... that's what caused my issue.
