Building my 2Ga GSX project car back to life

Goal is to properly bring back to life this project car. Main focus is engine/drivetrain maintenance & having a tuned motor.

Spent some time over the weekend getting started on disassembly of the engine.

This is the 7-bolt RVR engine I picked up from an importer here in SoCal labeled as 96’ that originally came with RVR ECU, harness, top mount intercooler, OEM turbo, CAS housing behind intake cam, 1g style waterpipe/thermostat housing. Who knows how long its been sitting hence the condition of it shown in pictures.

Some parts were really stuck to the engine so I had to use some rubber mallet persuasion. Trying my best to label and place every single part/bolts in bags & separate into boxes to help keep track as this is my first time disassembling or rebuilding an engine for that matter.

Finished deburring & roll sanding the front main oil galleys. Smooth enough for me, also did not want to over due it 😅. I think the oil supply hole right before the galley turns 90* into the block confirms its a 1g 7-bolt as I have only been able to reference 6-bolts with it & not 2g 7-bolts.
