i just bought a 91 eagle talon tsi awd.

i bought it for 200 dollars, the towing and storage fee. everything looks good besides the motor and transmission. the owner said it had a cracked head. but the head was missing, intake mani, throttle body, intake, intercooler, ect. (everything that goes with the intake).

i want to push 15 to 20psi and get in between 300 to 400 whp. for sunday street driving and comp.

ive taken the motor to the machine shop to have it hot tanked and magna flux. check the crank and rods. everything is good. the pistons were damage by the valves so im going to replace pistons. piston damage takes me to my first question.

1. ive read time and time again that wiseco piston are what i want to go with. so wiseco pistons it is. im going to bore the block 20 over and leave the crank and the rods the stock? what compression?

2. i just bought a ported and polished head. i was wondering if a valve job would be at all needed. i really dont understand what pros a valve job has. exp. oversized valve and 3 angled valve job.

3. and this leaves me to cams. what hp increase would hks 272/272 give me. and advantages

1. You can leave the crank stock. Wiesco's are a good choice of pistons amd you could mate those with some eagle rods if you wanted, but for you goals you could also go with a big rod 2G piston set up.

2. Our heads come stock with a 3 angle valve job so if you wanted to you cuold get that cleaned up. Stock size valves will be fine, you only oversized valves if you are going to be making huge power.

3. HKS 272's are a good choice some people might tell you to go with 264/272 combo. The 272 combo will give you some more top end power.

What turbo do you plan or running? At the same time you could just get a stcok 6 bolt engine a put it in there as it can handle the power that you want to make.
