Im looking to build a 450whp track/street car. Im sticking with a 2.0 motor. I was looking into Slowboy's longblocks. They seem to be pretty well built. Now I was wondering if anyone can reccomend slowboy from past experience with longblocks. I also was looking into FFWD's motors. They seem to have very nice setups as well. Has anyone had experience with either of these vendors motors? Problems? Performance? Service? Thanks so much everyone.

First, this thread will probably be locked due to being too close to a vendor feedback.

Second, and I don't mean to be rude, but it seems as if you don't really know what you're talking about. I'm glad you have a lot of money to spend on this car, but plan everything out ahead of time. A 450 AWHP track/street car will take about $15k (I would know, I'm building one) not too mention the number of spares/etc that you would need to keep the car running.

I'm not sure how much experience you have with these cars. You may know more than I do about them and just not be up on vendors. But it kind of seems like you're just throwing out names in an attempt to be told what to do, and after spending XXXXX amount of dollars have a perfect street/track car.
Either way I would suggest calling Mitch at engintecs and telling him what you want. Great guy, and meticulous Machinist. Reasonable prices compared to some of the other shops that sell crap for just as much if not more money. He might not have time, as he is constantly ridiculously busy, but give him a call and see what he says.

Just realize that this isn't a small task, and be ready to put A LOT of work into it.

Just for the archives, what kind of horsepower is a stock 1g TB, or a bored out 1g TB good for?

Thanks,

Greg Heineken :talon:

Ive heard good from both but I'd also like to hear the bad. I know some people have run great times on slowboy's blocks. And everyone says that Darren at FFWD is a great guy and takes pride in his work. Ive done business through him before so I think I will be calling him when he is back from vacation and talking to him about building a block.
