Kinda new to the site but have done a lot of researching here, big shout out because this site has helped in so many ways so kudos. So I'm in the process of rebuilding my '97 eclipse RS. Looking to have a nice street car but still a dd. The plan is to eventually go turbo, most likely a 16g setup but money is scarce my way because of college so the turbo part of the build will have to wait a little while. It's always good to have multiple perspectives so tell me what you think of it and if you have any suggestions i.e. better brands, prices, etc. The more the merrier!

Thanks :thumb:

Here is what is done so far:

Cylinder head:
port and polish
crower springs and retainers
crower 2's turbo grind

Block:
deck the block .005"
wiseco pistons 8.8:1 .020" over bore
eagle rods
stock crank
cylinders .020" over

What isn't done:

Thinking about some fidanza adjustable gears to get the most out of the new cams found them for $87 here
Fidanza Cam Gear - Slowboy Racing Inc. - The performance experts for factory turbocharged vehicles.

going to up the exhaust to 2.5" pipe, test pipe/ hi flow cat

want to invest in a new clutch, lookin into fidanza on that as well, don't know much about them lookin for something that will handle the upgrade to turbo... when it eventually happens...

if you are going to eventually go with a turbo setup, then make the exhaust 3 instead of 2.5. But it;s a good start! I definitely wish I had the money for what you already have =/

So I went ahead and ordered the Fidanza cam gears and as soon as I get paid again I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Fidanza 2.1 clutch, pp, and flywheel 420A setup. If anyone is running the 2.1 let me know what you think of it.
