Hey guys, there's alot of these posts on the forums and so far none of them have helped me fix my bogging issue.

My mods: DSMLink v2, 650ccs, MAF-T, GM33Bar, Dejon Intercooler, Evo3 16g, MachV o2 dump, Meghan Racing DP, VRS Catback.

Background: I've had some alternator problems recently. Three days ago the car ran FINE besides the electrical issues. The next morning my dad moved my car and said he had to jump start it. Okay, no problem.. 10 minutes later I drive it to work and as soon as I get to ~5psi it starts to feel sluggish and when I hit 10psi I backed off immediately because it started to buck and bog down BIG TIME.

I'm running a 16g with the actuator line hooked right to the boost source (Temporarily it's tapped on the BOV line simply because I am waiting for a new JPIPE, Monday) and it should be @ about 8-10psi, as soon as it hits 10psi the o2 dump doesn't open and it stays at 10psi when I floor it. That makes me think the engine isn't working any harder because it's bogging down internally.

Also, I just performed an intense boost leak test and I held 14psi FOREVER. It held so long I got bored watching it go down. Only place I leak from is the BISS screw and the post that the TPS is on (*SMALL LEAKS*).

My only other information about this is that it happened *BAM* over night. It wasn't a gradual decrease in performance. One day it worked fine, next morning it didn't.

I checked the resistance on each coil and it was 11k between each and that's apparently just within the tolerance. The spark plugs wires were around 5,900 ohms each, just within the tolerance. But the connector on top of the coil pack, the three prong job, I had 1.0 ohm solid between 1-3 and 2-3. The manual says 0.80 is max tolerance.

I have a 255 fuel pump and AFPR sitting on my desk here that were going to go in this weekend but I want to fix this problem first before I put those on. I also ordered new spark plug wires they will be here Sunday.

Hey mike, thanks for the reply.

I opened up the MAF-T and it was dark so it sorta looked wet. When I took it inside it appears the "wet" look was just the glue that they use to protect the board from static damage. It appears to be dry and everything seems to be okay.

I don't have any more information than that, since I have no leads of where to test next.

Okay, it's Sunday and I just picked up new BPR7ES plugs, gapped them to .28-.29 and new 8.5mm plug wires. No difference really, still bogs as SOON as it hits 10psi, and doesn't build any more after that. I can litterly hear and feel an "on-off" feeling to the engine. The power goes ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF as soon as I hit 10lbs it's amazing. The car runs PERFECT out of boost, it's never driven better when it's out of boost, I drove 300 miles this weekend staying off of the boost and it's ran flawlessly.

I have absolutely no idea where to go with this issue and this forum is my only help.

Check your voltage. If your alternator is flaking out, they might not be high enough.

I have a DSMLink Log of what's going on with my car when this happens, this is first gear and a little bit of second gear. Everything looks normal to me except the timing.

You can download it here: http://exxy.net/StutterLog.dat

You can download it here: http://exxy.net/StutterLog.dat

Can't view it (don't know what tool to open it with, and it's binary). Could you post the RPM and Timing in text in a post?

The only thing I can think of that could happen over night is the computer loosing memory. You said you dad had to jump start the car so maybe that is a factor in why it wont run correctly.

It sounds like the car is out of tune. Does the car only bog when you go WOT(WideOpenThrottle)? Maybe your computer lost its tune, because the battery died. If the car runs fine when you are driving slow, but it runs bad when you get on the gas.... then it kinda sounds like your WOT map needs adjustments. Check your setting on DSMLink.

Also is there any smoke coming from the car when it's bogging?
Black smoke usually mean its running rich, and white usually mean its running lean.
That could be another indicator that the car is out of tune.

I'll check out your DSMLink log file later when I get home.
Maybe I can see something

Here's a log. The GM33Bar column is how much boost I'm running (accurate). Let me know if there are anymore values that would help you I'll insert them.

Yes, my DSMLink settings did get reset on the jump start, and no I didn't reload them before I left that morning. I did however change them back on the way home from work. I don't have an extremely aggressive tune and all I really changed were my deadtime settings and fuel compensation.

I looked at your log and I DID notice there are no global fuel adjustments, or timing adjustments, or RPM adjustments.

You might have lost your tune. That and LTFT's are WAY off. The ECU is pulling fuel.

Yeah you lost your tune!! :) Easy fix!

Wow thanks guys, you got me thinking. Turns out that ECU file that I had loaded my settings from was an older file with just my airflow changes and not my fuel changes.

I didn't know my deadtime and compensation changes mattered so much. Thanks guys for the help.

These sparkplugs are AMAZING.

No offence... but WOOOWW. Deadtime and global comp settings are... well the most important part of it all!! Read the DSMLink user's guide and tuning guide. Take them to heart. And do you homework!! :) :)

i have `97 eclipse n/t with 420A engine. and exact problem - bucking and bogging under wide open throttle (hard acceleration). i have new NGK-s and checked coil - was ok. any suggestions?
