Hey guy, I am wondering if anyone knows the phon number to call for quaife lsd warranty fufillment. M car has been exhibiting some symptoms that the front diff might be toast. This only happens at full boost b the car at about 12psi is roasting the driver side tire only. It hops really badly the moment you hit full boost in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears and seems like the paasenger wheel is just spinning. I am also suspecting my passenger axle might be at fault or maybe even transmission fluid. I might have a more clear cut answer tomorrow when I can crawl under the car tomrrow. Thanks for any help.

Btw I am FWD.

It has been on the car for two years. Yea I heard they are near bullet proof so I am hoping I have a cheaper thing wrong. Are there other things I should look at before opening the tranny? The symptoms are:

1. Under wot at full boost the car seems to just hop really badly and not want to go as if it is fighting itself. This is only at full boost.

2. My driver's side wheel seems to be doing all the work because if I try to.step on it, I find it to be hot afterwards almost as if the passenger side wheel is making it work double.
.
Could it be a bad passanger axle? Maybe my tranny fluid is too old or thin? I use synchromesh. It hops like this in any of the upper gears once I hit full boost.

With car in gear, lift one front wheel and try to turn it. It shouldn't. If it does, check both axles. If the axles are good, it's probably the diff.

Note that one wheel hotter than the other is often a brakes issue. I can't imagine that you wouldn't notice if you're actually spinning one wheel at WOT. Also, if you've been spinning one wheel at WOT, the tire-wear would probably show this.

Finally, a blown diff or axle usually leads to the car revving to redline when you step on it. It rarely if ever causes the car to fall on its face (unless the car has traction control, which you don't).

Well the good news is that it comes with a lifetime warranty. As far as the fluid, drain it and check for debris or shavings in the fluid. Also when you refill it I would use Redline MT-90, it's recommended by Shep and most other DSM transmission specialists.

As far as cheaper things to check, make sure all your suspension components are in good condition and bolted down tight. A loose strut mount or control arm could definitely cause wheel hop.

With an open diff the passenger side wheel should be the one doing all the work, at least that has been my experience. I think I would start looking for something besides the Quaife, but you can't rule that out either. Check the axles, make sure the hubs spin freely (with the axles out), etc.

I did the lifting of one wheel on each side and it checked out good. Looks like my issue might be somewhere else. My mechanic suggested the clutch disc but this clutch is about a year old and has not been beat on.

However I was hearing a hissing or brushing sound when engaging. Could thos be a sign that somethimg is up with the clutch?

If the car revs up when you floor it AND the car passes the one-wheel-lifted test AND you don't have noticeable/excessive tire wear on one or both sides, then it pretty much has to be your clutch.

Yea it seems like the clutch might be the culprit. The funny thing is that I have no issues with engagement or shifting at all. Any way to test it?

The car does not rev up when floored. When you hit full boost it barely continues to rev.

Went out tonight and drove it around and I kind of figured it is my clutch. Basically what happens is the car reaches full boost perfectly. However after hitting full boost the car will shake a little and then the rpms shoot up as the clutch slips. Fidanza clutch kits FTL. So my question is does this sound like my disc is gone or do I have to replace the whole thing?

I had another question. So the last couple of weeks I have been driving with mismatched tires in the front. I blew a tire and bought a used tire until winter arrived. The used tire is the same size but it had about half the tread of my other front tire and was a different brand. Would these mismatched front tires cause me issues especially since I have the quaife in there? Can this lead to, for example, my tire with less tread losing traction and therefore me hopping or spinning?
