Is every 97 and up DSM passenger seat cramped forward towrads the dash or is mine just broken? B/c I know 3 other people that have the same problem...

My 96 GS was like that when I bought it, it tends to happen when people are clmbing in and out of the back because when you lean the seat forward it automatically slides forward to allow easy access. The problem with this is that when people put pressure on the seat it is putting pressure on the rails and the greased sliders that are inside of them. They may have gotten jammed up not allowing the seat to go back. Take the seat out and fix the problem, its only 4 bolts come on man not that hard, clean your carpets while your at it and you can get better access to them.

Lift the little lever on the side and move it back.

I don't know why the rocket surgeons at Mits only thought the driver's side needed a memory. But, it's just more of the half-assedness that proves they're not Japanese cars.

I've tried all that allready I took the seat out twice... the problem is that the seat will go all the way back but it wont lock in that position... it will only lock when its all teh way up...
