broke a connector off oil filter housing

i dont really know what it is for but this is the connector

right where it gets dark is where it is completly snapped in half.
i dont want to run my car without it being where it should be. does anyone know what it is used for?
it slides into the connecter i have in my hand and screws into the shiny part on the oil filter housing

i went to my local autozone and advanced auto an they said they had nothing like it.

I would call the local junk yard and get it from them. if not jbweld works great!!!! sand it and clean it with solvent then dry it and jbweld it back together. good luck. i would try the junk yard first!!
 
It's for the oil pressure sending unit. Your going to have to get a new one. Yes the car can run without it, but as said earlier, if you lose oil pressure you will have no indication of it happening ahead of time.

Ummm...no.

You aren't seriously recommending that someone JB Weld an electrical connector together...especially on a $15 sensor for a warning that could potentially save his engine.... right? :|
