wonder if anyone has ever tried this setup or if it will even work...i know the evo retainers are supper light, and i also knnow their alluminum. Just looking into a decent, reasonably priced setup seing as how i just recently returned my fp beehives....due to the fact the retainers were on back order forever

Im not exactly sure, but in theory...if they fit good, they will work considering how many evo's out there have BC cams.
So I guess the question here is.....Will they fit?

Ok, I did quite a bit of researching and I came across this:
Stock evo valve springs and retainers

The guy who posted that has a 1G and is looking for evo springs and retainers to upgrade his 1G.
It seems as if it does fit after all.

Well theres a link for that too LOLoo

I sorta already knew aluminum wasn't as strong as titanium...its pretty obvious
Aluminum vs Titanium Retainers - Page 2 - Honda-Tech

(Im sorry the link had to be to a honda forum) LOL

But pay carefull attention to the guy who said he dropped a valve and blew his engine because an aluminum retainer failed. (post #28)

I personally wouldn't go with aluminum retainers.

the increase in spring tention with the stiffer spring (BC1100) will chaffe and cause the alum retainers to fail

Alum retainers are nothing new, the domestic V8's ran them back in the 60's/70's and when big springs were used for the big cams, the retainers started failing

IMHO... run the stock steels or flip the cash for the Ti if you want lighter.... To me it is not a question of if an alum retiner will fail, but a question of when.

If you are on a budget, I would just keep the stock ones in and use the money elsewhere. If you really want retainers than go for Titanium.

I should ask you, what are your power goals?
What is your mod list going to look like?
