Haha, exactly what i was thinking.

But anyway, anybody who wants to buy the 280s, needs to ride in a car that has them first. I absolute hate them for daily driving. They have no low end power what so ever.

this is true...the car is lacking in low end power. considering i am making 50whp & 40ft-lbs of torque more than my previous setup (stock 6 bolt with fp2's), compared to my 8.5:1 eagle/wiseco block and 280's the car spools the same it seems and was more responsive with the fp2 setup..even with less power

I dont get this... when have little 2.0 motors. They dont have low end power. I dont know, maybe I just dont understand... I have 280's and I have no problems with them. The car dosent make much power down low, but it never did. The magic happens from 6K to 9.5K... If you are not reving your motor past 8500 you should go with the 272's.

BTW, FP2 is a awesome cam, nice choice.

I am pretty sure JnZ tunning has them in stock, and they dont lie to you like some vendors. Support a good Vendor.
I bought them from VIP Garage, Directly from BC and a Set from JnZ (I have bought like 6 sets of 280's for friends), with all of those vendors I got nothing less then Top Notch service. Martin from VIP really went out of his way to help me.

JNZ is where i got my recent info thats why i beleive its 100% true. They told me there getting 272s to ship out on the 16-18th i think and every where else getting them on the 25th.
I know i always post up this but if anyone has any vids of the cams installed id love to hear them. thanks

We are getting a total of 60 sets (30 272's and 30 280's) on June 29th. As far as I know we are first in line. At that point we will be calling everyone that has been patiently waiting for these on our waiting list, we refuse to pre-sell these as the ETA's thusfar have been less than accurate ;)

You're right, we shouldn't expect much low end power from these cars, but it's just the response that suffers a bit compared to the 272. I'm not complaining though...these cams keep the power from falling off up top. Without changing any other parts...i picked up 600rpm more before the power tapers off. Added with a smim and new tb, I am hoping to see power up past 8k. My only question now is will my Crower springs & retainers hold up....any suggestions?

Could always shim the Crowers to get abit more out of them.

when i was talking about low end sucking, i was talking about normal driving. I drove a 2g with stock cams, and 50trim, and it was a LOT more to fun to drive in the 25-55mph range. Just give it a little gas, and it would pick up speed no problem. if i put the gst with the 280's to the floor, it takes FOREVER to pick up anyspeed, its ridiculous. I was always the guy saying that spool and all that didnt matter and that i would downshift if i need to pick up speed. the scm6152 and smim may have not helped either though.

on a side not, i LOVE the idle of these cams with an open dp. kind of obnoxious, but sounds bad ass at 900 rpm.

But you would not mind if that was not true right?

shhh :shhh: ! well all know where that comment will go, let's not ruin a good thread!

Anyway, I'm still anxiously waiting to see when the BC cams will be cranked out. I'm a click away from ordering some 280s, but I don't feel like having 300 dollars tied up at the moment waiting for a back-ordered product.

LOL - I would not mind - stuff happens, we live, move on, and get over it - we are talking about car parts and modifying cars - not they shipped my new, but slighlty used kidney a few days late - that would be important! ;)

Now ask my shipping folks if they mind - and they would say YES - we need the people to stop calling and whining everyday about something we have no control over - there crystal ball must be MIA.

I have my little 92 AWD Auto project waiting on a set of 280's as well - looking forward to making it fly!

Got my set from MA Performance yesterday!

Sorry I had to do it. Their shipment isn't in, I bought them from a friend that left them at the shop. Chris did already mention that he got the replacement exhaust cam, these are the cams he spoke of.

BUT, they are on the way there. Just a little longer peeps!

As for the comment of contributing to the community, MA Performance has always been there when I needed them. If I overheated near their shop, they gave me water. When I needed to change plugs and check compression, they lent me the tools. I'm just saying if you haven't heard of them don't knock them. That is all.

Thanks Tom, and as he said guys this was a set we had from the last time around that was missing an exhaust cam until recently. We are expecting our shipment in as early as tomorrow and will be filling our backorders (for which we have not charged our customers yet in order to avoid frustration) and accepting new orders. Again we have 30 sets of 272's and 30 sets of 280's which should be sufficient at least for a while ;)

And don't forget, we won't be beat in regards to price ;)

Thanks!
