Since no one has posted their opinions on these I figured I'd make another thread for easier access to this information instead of having to cruise through another thread to get some information.

When ordering his cam shafts, he recommends upgrading to these. Well thats fine and dandy, but what kind of revs can these guys handle?

well,on the BC website, they say you dont need springs for stage 2 (272s) but you need em for the stage 3 cams(280s) ..

so it depends on what cams you get.

280's but I was generally speaking of the revving... How high can these singles go?

As posted in the other thread... Brian told me that some guys have revved 10K on them without issues. Springs are more then just a rev limit, it matters what cams you are using... like I know some evo guys run HKS 280's on stock springs to 8300 but if you use the GCC (or something like that) 280's and stock springs you can only rev to 7800 rpms. Ramp rates are going to have alot to do with it. But like I said, BC's single spring with BC 280's have been tested to 10K without issue.

In the future call him and ask and you will get a answer you can count on...

Well if it matters to you, we are running all of Brian's product line, and I am now reving to 10,500, and have had no problems. We are now making well over 1000WHP with no issues as of yet. We run Brian's 280 cams and his single spring kit. Trust me you won't be dissappointed! We picked up 37 WHP by switching from HKS 272s to the BC 280s.

The 861 that is listed in my profile was on the old stuff. So you can see what his products can do.

OW (VERY LOUD)!!!!!!! Damn! I cant wait to see how much airflow I pick up from switching to these BC 280's from my Webs! You must be the guy Brian was talking about when he said
there is a guy running 10+K on these springs and picked up 40HP switching from 272's

I think the gain in my measly 400whp car will be less, but should still be a positive change. I would have to say by the numbers you quoted, your car would be a extreme circumstance for gains.

Yes that would be me. Brian helps me out quite a bit, and we try to test as many of his products as possible.

Those singles can handle 280s at 10000+ rpm without float? Have you had any issues with them sacking out over time? I wonder what the ramp rates on the 280s are like- the more aggressive cams in FP's lineup that roughly match up to the 280 specs all "require" ST duals shimmed to the max.
