hey guys can someone tell me how to fix this.
sometimes when im on a red light or just parked , the engine feels like it cannot breath . you can even hear the exhaust going like buh buh buh buh like an untuned turbo car.
i dont know if is because its running to much fuel and no air or what. can it be that i have to clean the throttle body?

Check your plugs. If you're running lean or rich this will tell you.

Does is drive differently?
Have you cleaned your air/intake filter anytime the last year or so? Fuel filter?

i have a cold air intake which i have for like 4 months and new NGK spark plugs. and yea it feels different sometimes , and what i dont get its that when its in NEUTRAL it doesnt do it.

Buy a spark plug gap tool from an autopart store. They are like a dollar. I think stock range plugs are suppose to be around .42-.48 (Someone correct me if I'm wrong).

so u guys dont think that is that the throttle body is not clean?

my n/a talon did the same thing...when i would come to a redlight, slowing down in gear the car would want to stall out...if i did it in neutral it would be fine...kind of wierd...my n/a eventually spun a bearing...that fixed it :) if the plugs and wires dont work try inpecting the IAC.

oh ok im goin to take it to my mechanic shop and im goin to ask him to check the gap on the plugs and also the IDLE AIR CONTROL.

thanks

oh and also by any chance do any of you know what this sound could be. everytime it rains or i turn the car on for the first time in the day it makes a noise. it sounds like when the timing belt needs to be change. then it goes away as the car gets warmer.

Don't have a shop check the gap. Buy a gapper, unscrew the plug and check the gap. If it's out of spec that's your problem. If not pull off the throttle body and check/clean the IAC. Definitely not something you should need to pay to have done.

As for the sound, describe it.

id love to help you the noise, but as DSMcrazy3 said, need some more info! and dont be scared, pull the plugs out and check the gap, itll save you money! more money to put into your DSM!

alright , ill do it .

and as for the sound . to tell u the truth i dont even know how to say the exact word for it. but it sounds like if someone is whistleling inside the hood. to me it sounds like somethin needs oil or is rusty

my car does that sometimes in the winter time.. :|
my car sounds liek blub blub blub blub and i can literarlly hear my car gasping for air it soudns like shhhhhhhh along with the tough idle.. but i just tap the gas and it goes away but will come back bu once i start driving it it's okay.. but this is only somtimes on super cold days

Bad bearing in an accessory, perhaps? If bad enough, it would sap ALOT of power, and would makes noises.

Just throwing it out there.

As someone who is currently living with this problem on a daily basis (waiting to get my ms before I fix it)...I'm gonna tell ya to check a few things....first whate everyone else has been saying (check those), second, check your PCV valve and make sure its on the right way, and there are no holes in the tubing connecting it.

And for Your CAI are you running a hose to the intake pipe or just a breather?
