Brand new 2g dsm question *HELP*

hello everyone, i just bought a gsx and i have a lot of money to spend on mods being that i was saving up for the srt-4. i was just wondering if i added a 20g turbo to my stock motor what would be my outcome (1/4 mile time and horsepower?) as u can tell im a newbie and i really need the help..

You can't just slap on a 20g turbo you need the support mods first, I would just follow the tuning guide.

yes you can "slap" on a 20g.... but can you do 12's with a huge turbo on your stock motor. no. actually you will run slower than stock times because your turbo is not running at 100% efficency level. you would only run stock boost... which would really suck on a 20g.

you need to put all your supporting mod's as well as a "20 g" on at the same time OR

My suggestion is build the crap out of your stock t-25 or 14b... then get bigger injectors/turbo/standalone/whatever else you want

Think if you can run 12's on your 14b, then slap on 20g and if you have modded your stock turbo correctly you should lower your times dramatically.

The link above is very good... but if youw ant go fast for cheap, you can do it all much cheaper if you fab stuff up yourself... why buy a 700 exhaust system when you can get a friend to weld pipes from RRE for 200...

why buy a 1000 IC system, when you can buy custom ones for 600-700 bucks... save 300 here or there will easily pay for your bigger turbo down the line... ebay is your friend as well as used parts off of other ppl's car.

You'll most likely have to get into the stage 2 mods before you can realistically expect to run in the 12's.

if you really want a 20g... u must get supporting fuel mods...

first of all you will need...

3" exhaust
3" o2
exhaust manifold with a o2 dump
720cc or so
walbro 255 hp fuel pump
afpr
big FMIC
S-AFc or MAF-t/gm maf combo
ABS Intake w/k&n
act 2600
gauges up the bunghole... boost water oil a/f egt
datalogger
boost controller
BOV
some 110 octane gas
20psi

after your first run you will blow something up...

then time to move on to
1200cc injectors
race intake manifold
race block
EMS
race cams
race pistons
race rods
race crank
race head



then your ready for 30psi

after your second run, you will blow something up again...

then strip your car gutless, replace whats not working, get a roll cage and lexan glass everywhere, carbon fiber parts everywhere, and step on the gas and dont look back... because you will be hitting 150mph in no time
