My brake light likes to come on when I start the car, but after maybe ten minutes of driving, it will shut off. I just replaced my alternator, but it was doing this before I changed it about a week before my old alternator went. Any thoughts?

Edit: Just for reference this is not the ABS light.

Brake fluid? What have you checked already?

*And we're talking about your Brake Service Light right? Not the actual light?

Check underneath the brake pedal, you could possibly have a faulty switch.

Well brake fluid is good. And I really don't know what could possibly "trip" the brake light. And this is the light right dead center that's red and says BRAKE in the middle of it... obviously...

im pretty sure its the parking brake/e-brake, not the service light or the abs. would guess that the sensor on the ebrake is somehow being tripped, i now mine lights up iif pull the brake up an inch or so, evenn when its not actually braking.

i have an at btw, i would assume its the same light on a manual.

Turns out my dumbass thought the minimum fluid level was the maximum fluid level... small mistake of me...

Good to close this mods. Thanks for your help anyways guys.
