I need advice on this. Currently I am using the 7's gapped to .025. I'm running about 32psi dropping to 28psi. Which plug should I run and at what gap? Thanks guys.

I'd go with the 8's, I'm running the 7's with my hybrid 14b gapped at .030 and only like 18psi.. With that much boost and that size turbo the colder plug will def help.

7's are probably plenty, but your car may like 8's better. What fuel are you running? If you aren't running an ignition box, you might not be able to gap tighter than .023 without breaking-up up top. But, usually, the tighter the better.

What plugs and what gap have you been running? And how has it been performing thus far?

Ive been running 7's gaped at around .25. Its been running rough the past couple of days and I wanted to change out plugs. The plugs I currently run have about 4k miles on them. Some what disapointed that they could foul out so quickly. No ignition box running e85. Its been running okay since the new turbo setup but I havnt had it tuned yet. Here is some pictures of the plugs.

im running 8's gapped to 0.28 and i havent had no problems boost fine and runs smooth....i wouldent give it to much thought just go with the 8's since your running high boost and you have a big turbo they should be fine....good luck bro

I honestly doubt you'd benefit from an "8" with running E85. It's probably much colder than you need.

I run 40+ psi on 7's still, and a buddy of mine runs 6's with a 35r at 30+ psi.

Try gapping them a little tighter. I've seen huge improvements with as little as .02 tighter gap. Also, what are your current AFR's? Your tune will have a much greater impact on the way the engine runs, than the heat range of the plug.

Sorry for asking what you're currently running. I just noticed that you stated that in your first post. :coy:

I went ahead a bought both 7's and 8's. I installed the 8's gapped at .28. Ill see how they react in the morning when I go to work. Then I'll swap themout for the 7's and try gapping them to .22-.23 and see how they react. My AFR's are good and at WOT I'm sitting around 11.8-12.2 . I'm still working on my WOT but have had little time due to work.

Paul, your buddy is asking for trouble running 6's on a 500whp+ setup. Pre-ignition = Bad. I know someone who blew up their dsm running stock plugs in a similar setup. It doesn't matter if it's E85. You still use the same rule of thumb of running colder plugs with increase in engine HP. :sneaky:

OP, I would suggest the non-protruding electrode plugs. BR8ES is what I run in my junk with no issues even at 40psi on the stock ignition.

I was very surprised to find out he was still running the stock heat range back when I found out. But the car seems to really like them. He also runs a healthy amount of methanol with his E85 and and he doesn't read any knock. He just stepped up to a GTX4201r, so I doubt he's going to run the 6's for much longer.
