Alright, so apparently I just wasted $250 on a Turbo Xs HFl becuase it cant be vented back into my intake, and my CEL wont go off. I have searched all over the boards for a way to vent and keep the CEL off, but I just cant find one. Will buying an Injen Intake made without the recirculation stem make the CEL go away, or am I screwed?

So, does anyone know of a BOV that will give me the sound of bieng vented, but actually being recirculated. I love the sound of venting, but I cannot drive my car with the CEL on.

Any anxious flamers out there, take note, this is my first post, so be gentle.

Thanks

Jeff

P.S. - Any hard core DSM tuners live around the Middletown, OH area?

I think I might try venting with my stock intake pipe and 2g BOV, if I can drive fine without the RPMs falling quickly when I come to a stop then I'll decide whether or not to vent. I guess that I'll just purchase the HKS BOV along with the recirculating fitting and just experiment with the two, I heard that recirculating will make the BOV silent though. Would venting the 2g BOV make it louder??? I'm trying to decide what BOV to get also because I just got a job but I'm trying to figure out what I want to buy first because I won't be making much, only about 180-200 every two weeks. If I was to get the HKS BOV, that would be 150, plus about another 150 for the UIP with the HKS flange. Then I would have to order the recirculating fitting also which is about 12 bucks. I might be able to get a Blitz SS BOV for 100 used and the dejontool UIP for 110 bucks, I'm not sure why it is so cheap just because it has a diff flange on it but whatever.

So yeah I still have to figure out if I want to vent my BOV first. I'll maybe go home today and take off the return hose from the return valve and tube, cover up the tube with some duct tape and see what happens. But isn't venting in general bad??? Suggestions???

I recirc with a 1g valve (your 2g valve is a paperweight) and can be heard for blocks :)

I really hope your post was a big joke.

No you can't just use an AFC. It doesn' change out MAF setup.

Tial doesn't recirculate.

SEARCH.

So if I was to get the HKS SSQ BOV, it would be rough between shifts??? I was pretty aware that the SSQ didn't have a return valve to go back to the intake but after doing some searching I found some fitting that allows you to do so. I'm about to get that BOV because I'm getting it cheap brand new from my friend, oh yeah I noticed that the flange doesn't seem to have any kind of holes for bolts to keep it sealed??? Anyone know any info on this?

I have an HKS SSQ BOV recirc. fitting/piece Im selling for $30 shipped to your door. PM me if your interested.

Hey Scott, when are you holing another NWSR meet or whatever? You should make it to either the NWDSM Mt St Helens run (date still undecided), or the DSMTuners BBQ/Meet part V on Sept. 20th. Hit me up email or PM and lemme know whats going on...

Here is a fairly cheap solution for the people wanting to vent there BOV to the atmosphere. It helps with most of the problems associated with this practice. It also helps clean up poor idle quality if you are having those problems to. Here is the website for detailed information.
