bov setup

ok so i bought this 1g bov and have no idea on how to install it. Guy suggested to get intercooler piping and mount it on that or could i do it on what i have now? also i belive i need a recirculation tube and how to install it all and im confused. Pics to show what i have.

ya i know that but one to optimize power a piping system help alot or not really and the flange is all i need? is it automattically recirculated? and where do i install the flange on the car now?

You need an upper hardpipe that has a 1G flange on it.

Well considering the stock pipe's plastic, I'm gonna say no....

If you get a replacement upper hardpipe, the flange will sit right where the current stock one sits, and the mouth of the BOV will plumb right into that black hose thats connected to the stock BOV and recirculate.

thats what i thought about not being able to put it on the plastic but people said i could.... but what about a cheaper kit from ebay for all the piping? would i have but extra part or will that work? such as this...

That wouldn't work without a LOT of custom work on your part, as well as needing a 1G flange in general.


Ebay used to have kits like the Punishment one on there a while back for fairly cheap, but I did a search on it before I posted the links for the punishment and dejon, and the only ones I did find were flanged for Greddy BOV's or the price for what they were selling was damn close to Punishment's price, but they didn't include all the piping that punishment did.


I'd do yourself a favor, and just put your pennies away till you can get the one from punishment. Replacing those hardpipes is a great upgrade. Less chance of leaks for one. Your lines wont expand during boost either.

Cheapest I found was this one here, and this is what you'd need. It's $130 shipped. Pretty much the same as the punishment kit I linked to.

The Punishment kit or the Ebay kit I linked to in my last post are both flanged for a 1G BOV, so all you'd have to do is take out the old piping from the intercooler to the throttle body, and replace it with the kit, bolt on your 1G BOV to the new pipes, hook up the black hose to the 1G mouth, and you're golden.

They also come with a pipe for the lower intercooler piping portion that runs from the turbo to the bottom of the intercooler. Doesn't have anything to do with your BOV but it gets rid of the crappy piping they use from the factory.

The problem with going ebay ebay ebay is that you can ask just about any DSM owner thats bought stuff from ebay for one thing or another, and it's a 50/50 chance of getting something that doesn't fit right, or is out right shitty quality.

Ebay is the definition of "you get what you pay for". I've bought plenty of stuff form there over the years, and have had decent luck, but I've got a lot of junk too. I tend to order parts from the Vendors here simply because it helps ensure we get quality parts.

Search 2g DSM BOV Adapater on google.

You can also just replace the upper intercooler piping with a hard pipe that has a 1g flange.

The problem with eBay kits are that sometimes the pipes are not beaded which will allow the couplers to blow off. If you looked at the links provided you would be able to find the single pipe you need that has the 1g BOV flange on it. You do not need to buy a whole kit of pipe as they make the single pipe you are looking for.

You will have some better performance if you go with a full hard pipe kit though. Deion Tool, Punishment Racing, Greddy (will have a Greddy flange), and a few others. While eBay can be good for some things, a lot of things on there tend to be low quality and poorly built/designed.
