bov recirculation

i have an hks ssqv recirculated now and i want to know what i'd need and what i'd need to do to have it be not recirculated. does recirculating it give me any performance gains over not having it recirculated?

Yes you want to keep it recirculated. If you want to vent it you must get a maf-t setup with the gm maf before the bov. This way the air is read after the bov and can be vented without any issues.

I would also recommend keeping it recirculated. The louder noise is not worth the possible troubles you will run into. Running rich is not fun/good for your car I had mine vent to atmosphere before I got on these forums and actually learned about my car. Anyway, the MAF-T setup is a pretty expensive alternative also if that's all you want out of the BOV. Hope this helps!

To clarify what JayRolla said, you need to place the GM MAF between the BOV and the throttle body. This usually requires modifying or ordering custom IC pipes, as well as the necessary MAF Translator. Also, you'll need to adapt your air filter to fit onto the intake pipe without the stock MAS, and make modifications so the intake pipe's BOV dump tube is sealed off. The other option is to simply order an intake tube that already has these requirements met.

If you have the money to do so, another way is to use a speed density setup and an EMS that can handle that. But most find the GM Maf and translator to be good enough for most needs.

yeah both of them above me are right, i too before learing ran my bov uncirulated. luckily i never ran into much problems other than worse gas mileage and running uber rich in between shifts( backfires are not cool)
